Our executive coach takes us from our usual pickups to the Welshpool Old Station Outlet Shops where we will have time for a relaxed tea/coffee in the delightful café and a visit to the various independent shops, with unique products from clothing homewares and handcrafted items and toys. unusual shops.
Our coach takes us though stunning Welsh scenery to Tywyn, where we visit the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum, which has a unique and fascinating collection relating to over 80 railways throughout the UK spanning 200 years, including a section about the Reverend Audry.
We then take a beautiful return journey on the Talyllyn Railway. The Talyllyn has been in continuous use since 1865, and in 1951 became the world’s first Heritage railway run by volunteers– including Rev. Audry who modelled some of the ‘Thomas the Tank Engines’ stories on it. It is unique because its original two locos and all the original coaches are all still in regular use. We ride behind historic steam locos in vintage carriages, from near the sea into the mountains. Before we get on the train we will be each given a picnic bag (special diets catered for) which is included in the price.
After the return journey on the Talyllyn, we return to Stafford by a different scenic route, with views of the Welsh coast and the beautiful Dyfi estuary.
The cost, including coach, gratuity, entry to the Welshpool Old Station, the Narrow Gauge Museum , return journey on the Talyllyn Steam Railway and Picnic bag is £48.
The pick up times are: Wildwood 08.15, Lynton Ave 08.25 and Rising Brook 08.40.
